How to Play

Play Hex Stream online for free. Hex Stream is a 67-stage timed space filling puzzle game involving paths. Connect all the numbered tiles with paths. The paths you create must cover all the hexagon tiles in the field. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
      • Select Help to open the tutorial screen.
      • Select High Scores to view the game’s leaderboard.
      • Pick a language from the drop down list on the bottom left corner of the screen.
      • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress and level scores.
        • Once you finish playing all the levels (or fail to finish one), you can add your final score to the leaderboard.
        • Game Controls
          • Desktop
            • With your mouse, left click and drag to connect the numbered cells.
              • Touchscreen devices
                • Tap and swipe on the screen with your fingers to connect each of the numbered cells.
                • Controls and indicators
                  • The game’s main controls are shown on the right side of the screen.
                    • First box:
                      • Reset button
                      • Second box, clockwise from left:
                        • Pause button: Lets you pause the game and opens the pause menu
                        • Enlarge button: Lets you switch between full-screen and windowed modes
                        • Speaker button: Turns the sound effects on and off
                        • Music button: Turns the music on and off
                        • Third box:
                          • Level number
                          • Score
                          • Timer
                          • Game Play
                            • Level selection
                              • Levels are unlocked in sequence. Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
                              • Finish the current level to automatically unlock the next one.
                              • You can replay any of the levels you’ve unlocked.
                              • There are 67 levels in this game.
                              • Basic rules
                                • Form a line that connect all the numbered cells with paths.
                                  • Each number has its own color.
                                  • Select and drag to connect each numbered cell to one another.
                                  • You can left click or tap on a cell to remove the segment of the line. This is important if you want to change the direction of the line.
                                  • Selecting the very first cell will clear the entire line.
                                  • Lines should not overlap.
                                  • To clear the level, you must connect all the colors and numbers while using every hexagonal tile in the field.
                                  • Solve the level before the timer runs out.
                                  • Scoring
                                    • Your score is based on how fast you solve each level.
                                    • You gain 30 points for every second remaining on the timer.
                                    • Your web browser also saves your cumulative
                                      • You can only put it your cumulative score in the leaderboard when you finish all the levels.
                                        • You can add to your cumulative score by replaying a level and finishing faster.
                                        • Your cumulative score will only change if you score higher on a level you replayed.
                                        • Strategy
                                          • Don’t go for the obvious links.
                                            • Your job is to fill all the tiles with paths. Connecting 2 points via the shortest possible point may not always cover all the tiles effectively.
                                            • Sometimes, the best path for a pair of numbers is a long and winding one.
                                            • Don’t be afraid of trial and error. Refine each path as thoroughly and as quickly as you can.
                                            • Target Audience
                                              • The game is suited for players who like spatial filling line drawing games.
