How to Play

Play Bugongo Bouncy Jungle online for free. Bugongo Bouncy Jungle is a 12-stage platformer escape game where you have to help an egg safely navigate its way across a jungle while avoiding various hazards. This is the third game in this series. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Press the PLAY button on the loading screen to bring up the game’s welcome screen.
Select the level number you would like to play on the welcome screen.
- Levels are unlocked sequentially. Unlocked levels show a green and white egg.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including level scores and how many eggs you collected on each stage.
- Game Controls
  - Desktop
    - Move left and right using the left and right arrows.
      - Press the C key to dash in the direction you are facing.
      - Jumping
        Jump by pressing X.
        Press X twice to double jump.
        You can climb the side of walls and platforms by jumping into them and then repeatedly jumping until you get to the top.
        You can smash things which are below you on a jump by pressing the down arrow key while in midair.
        Moving the egg
        The egg automatically rolls forward until it hits into something.
        If you are not moving the dinosaur you can slow the egg down by pressing the down arrow key & speed the egg up by pressing the up arrow key.
        If the egg runs into a colored box it equips a special power (like brick breaking spikes or a protective bubble) which you can activate by touching the spacebar.
        Press the R key to restart the level.
        Touchscreen devices
        While it may load on some mobile devices, this game was designed primarily for play on desktop computing devices.
        Controls & indicators
        The upper left corner shows how many dinosaurs and how many eggs you have remaining.
        The upper right corner shows the special power the egg has available, if any.
        The lower right corner has a button for bringing up the level select screen.
        Game Play
        Basics
        Your goal is to get the egg to the finish line while collecting hidden golden eggs in the level & as many coins as you can.
        Speed & cadence
        In some cases you have to run out in front of the egg to clear a path, activate a red switch, move a reversing box, or to collect golden eggs which are only accessible from certain platforms.
        In other cases you need to stay in screen with the egg so you can see its speed and path, such that you can adjust the speed as needed to jump across platforms without falling off.
        If you get too far away from the egg it will hatch and you will lose the level.
        Parallel paths
        Some parts of the level are hidden, requiring you to jump along a wall to reveal them.
        Some paths are only accessible to the dinosaur, while other paths are accessible exclusively to eggs.
        Power ups
        There are a variety of egg power ups you can use including spikes to crush concrete walls and a floating bubble.
        If your egg bounces over a power up you will not collect it.
        When you collect a power up you must press the spacebar to activate it.
        Levels
        This game has 12 stages which are unlocked sequentially.
        This game offers unlimited continues.
        If you fail a level or do not score highly on it you can go back and replay an unlimited number of times.
        Winning vs losing
        You lose if the egg falls off platform, if your dinosaur falls off platform, or if either of two run into 3 obstacles.
        You win by getting the egg safely to the finish line.
        Golden eggs
        Each level has 3 golden eggs hidden on it.
        Either the dinosaur or the egg can collect golden eggs.
        You can beat levels without collecting all the golden eggs, though the game records how many eggs you have collected from each stage.
        Strategy
        This game requires a lot of patience. It is very easy to hit the wrong key when you switch between controlling the egg & controlling the dinosaur.
        If the egg is stopped in a spot where you need to hit a red switch to open the path consider trying to collect as many nearby coins and golden eggs as you can before activating the switch so that you can focus on the egg’s path when the barrier has been opened.
        If you are having trouble earning a perfect score on a level consider skipping grabbing all the coins & golden eggs, and instead focus on simply beating the level then come back to it.
        Controlling egg speed when on bouncing trees is critical to ensure the egg does not fall off platform & does not skip over any necessary power ups.
        Even when you collect & use power ups you may still need to offer the egg a lot of assistance. For example, a spiked enemy can pop the float bubble. If you are running into these sorts of issues you can try to race out in front of the egg and defeat the enemies before the egg gets there.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like level escape platformer games.
        As this game is harder than prior games in the series it is recommended to play those games before playing this one.
        Bugongo Greenhill is the first game in this series.
        Bugongo Snowy Peaks added snowballs and ice.
        The game has no adult themed content.
